• Carbon handprint of a product refers to the positive impacts to the sustainability of the environment caused by the product throughout its life cycle.

State two types of common life cycles of a product.

Answer:
• Life cycle of a product which starts from source to disposal stage and then recycled (cradle-to-cradle life cycle of a product).

• Life cycle of a product which starts from source to disposal stage and then allowed to rot (cradle-to-grave life cycle of a product).

What is upcycle?

Answer:
Upcycle is a recycling process to produce new products of higher value than the original product.

What is the issue of microplastics that is associated with the food web?

Answer:
Microplastic is a plastic piece measuring less than 5 mm in length. It is hazardous if found in the body of aquatic organisms and can be transferred through various types of organisms until it ends up in humans through the food web. This transfer of microplastics in the food web becomes an issue which threatens human health.
